Default BF3 Updates

A new update to BF3 was just released and there are a good amount of changes...

If you're already comfortable with the original balance of the game it's probably a good idea to at least skim the notes about the update.

Update:
This patch hasn't been released yet - it's only been detailed. We will update everyone when it's released...

If this doesn't fix all the things that irritate me about this game it gets un-installed...

Oops, I jumped the gun also - this is a list of new fixes which are yet to be released... Hopefully they'll push this out any day now.

There was a "server patch to fix the spring patch" for BF3 released about a week ago... It fixes the AA missiles and tank armor, among other things.

Quote:
Changelist
* Fixed AA missiles not doing damage to vehicles moving at very high speeds (This is the much wanted heatseaker fix)
* Fixed TV Missile doing much more damage than it should (it is no longer a 1-hit kill)
* Tweaked tank armor strength
* MAV elevatoring fix, round 2; proning on the MAV will now disable it
* RCON admin.say command can send to individual players
* A few invalid map+gamemode combinations in maplist.txt could crash the server on startup; these combinations are now rejected instead
* RCON vars.serverDescription was not returning anything in R20 if the string was not set; this has been changed to return instead
* RCON player.onChat now reports the target player subset

Need to disable an idle MAV? Lay down on it! That makes perfect sense!

Heh. It's specifically a fix for "elevatoring": which is using it as an elevator to get to places you otherwise shouldn't be able to. It sounds like the spring patch disallowed the ability to kneel and stand on it while ascending, but they missed the prone position.
