Default Looking for some guidance.

Just a quick update before I get into my actual post. I am currently working for a fire protection company (Wolverine Fire Protection) and I am a engineering and inspection trainee. I start my NICET certs in January.

What I am looking for is someone who has a good deal of engineering knowledge to get a general direction to some good information and training that can be done on my off work time. I am getting really good training here at work but I am looking to get some knowledge that separates the good engineers from the best.

My engineering field is fire protection and the problem I have is that there just aren't a lot of great FPEs out there and the ones that are good are so curmudgeonly you can't get anything from them.

I realize it would be difficult to give me a lot of field specific tips and help but anything regarding engineering would be helpful.

In summary, I am looking for anything that will advance my engineering ability. Books, web sites, training videos, classes, whatever.

If anyone has anything that could be of help I would appreciate it so much. Any info would be great.

I don't know of anyone with engineering experience around here. Sounds awesome though. Good luck with your new career!

Well, on second thought, here's one link:

Engineering is 80% math so buff up...
