Default Project Management Tools

I'm looking for a good online service to use for project management and thought i might as well post it up here for opinions if any of you business-savvy folks had some to give... I did about 2-3 hours of hardcore research on it tonight and i really need to pick one soon, but i also don't want to bounce around and once i pick one hopefully i'll stick with it for 5+ years.

For those who don't know my work situation; i run my own business which contracts to large corporations for computer programming and consultation, mainly in the web/mobile markets. I work with many other individual contractors and small companies (artists, developers, etc) either directly or by proxy through the client which the product is being developed for, so i am mainly looking for a way to track a project's progress, assign tasks, monitor budgets, milestones, etc.

So, that being said, Basecamp seems to be the one with the largest following, however Goplan 2 is a strong contender for the #1 spot from what others have had to say around the web, and from what i have noticed in my comparisons. Both are powerful yet simplistic... Even though Basecamp has a much larger following i am currently leaning towards Goplan since they are aggressively developing new features for it right now, whereas Basecamp seems like it might be peaking, and Goplan includes additional features such as bug/issue tracking which is a huge bonus for my type of projects.

Here are some additional competition of the above 2 - although these appear to be more for large corporations, include far too many features which i don't need, and are mostly overpriced considering how i would use them.

If anyone has opinions please let me know. Right now i am leaning towards Goplan as i said - likely the $50/mo version. Also FYI; when it says that they support "N" number of projects for that price, both Basecamp and Goplan support archiving of projects so the project count is only for "active" projects, and then projects can be un-archived at any time.

Thanks in advance for the opinions! Hopefully this will help someone else make the same decision as well...

Either would work perfectly.

They are the front runners for online projecr management. I think the Goplan package gives you slightly more for the price, but I think you would be ok with either.

Try Easy Projects, it has its own merits, for one--it is quite cheap.

Heh, I fully expected you to be a spammer, but you appear to have offered some actual legit information. Thanks!

99.9999% of new posters which we get here that we don't know from our gaming community are just spammers. I assume you came here from Google... Congrats on being the first random visitor approved for a new/first post in at least a few years.

And I think it's good tool, after a bit of personal research. Not too shabby. Thanks again.
