Default Anyone into RC cars?

I have a Jato 3.3 nitro that I am looking to get rid of. I paid $450.00 bucks for it, but am only asking $275. Its got a couple of upgrades, and has less than 10 hours on the motor.

It's fast. I've had the radar gun on it and gotten readings of around 67 mph, and have seen it rip wheelies at over 40 when grabbing the throttle hard.

If you're interested, shoot me a PM. I figured I would ask here in case any one was into this type of stuff so they could have first dibs. If not, I'll put it on ebay or something.

EDIT: This car is an expert level car. It WILL lose control and crash if you do not know what you are doing.

Heres a couple of pics:

I actually sold the one I had. The one that I have now is just the stock controller.

I remember driving those. Hell of a car thats for sure. I wish the jato's COG was the same. If it were, it'd be unstoppable. The problem I ran into with this car on asphalt is that its way too powerful and suffers some pretty nasty chassis roll when cornering at speed. Its common to see the inside front wheel floating, or both front wheels floating in dirt.

Yeah the RC10's were very fun. This car reminds me of them a lot. Its a bigger bore (0.20) and has a two speed tranny.

Overall, I don't think you can improve on this car any. It can hang with almost anything on the pavement if you're a good driver. I've beaten more than a few guys with touring cars around the road courses. It's tough but possible with the help of some soft slicks and some tricky tuning and gearing.

My one beef is that they give you "all purpose" tires on it stock, but they do not drive very well in the dirt, and can also spin like mad on the pavement. The car just has a ton of power.

Also, be prepared to replace the rubber often. This is after about 2 hours of dirt racing.

fun little things huh? i had a NTC3 touring car a few years ago.... i got rid of it because i couldn't find a rally kit for it to lift it off the ground a little....i had fun on roads and even the race track i took it to back then. all my friends who raced with me went to stadium trucks, and i went to motocross sure did have fun with it though.

Have you ever driven the coor trucks? One of my buddies has one from traxxas, and you want to talk about a blast to drive in the dirt? They have heavy duty independent suspension and four wheel drive.

Man they are fun but if the tires hook while powering through a turn on really bumpy terrain, its rolling at least 5 times. The good thing though is that they are not open wheel like the jato or the RC10, and they are very tough. One of my other buddies who also has a jato managed to collide with this coor truck because he was not paying attention and just demolished the front of his car. It broke the shock tower, both tie rods, snapped one shock rod and bent the other beyond use, cracked a rime, snapped the other wheel spindle, and broke a gear in the steering servo.

The coor truck was waiting to be driven with no damage at all other than a small scrape on the front bumper.

I'll have to dig around and see if I have some video of this thing on the track. It's so much fun especially when you can find a really good track to run at.

Thats the problem. They do cost a lot. Average set of rubber mounted will run you 70 dollars. To replace the front end on the jato costs about 100 bucks.

But yeah, it adds up really quick when you get out there hot dogging and end up wrecking.

My brother and his kids are really into RC cars and i don't think they've had anything quite this powerful yet. If you haven't gotten rid of it yet i might be interested.

FYI, here's a link to it:

Yeah, I still have it. It's cold enough today so that I don't need to re-tune. I might start it up just to run the motor since its been sitting a while. If I do, I'll try to grab some video of it.
